2010 Singlespeed Worlds, Rotorua, Nz Entries...
Because of demand, Kiwi entries to the 2010 Singlespeed World Champs (powered by Kiwibikes and a great crew of friendly locals) in Rotorua on October 23 are open again for a strictly limited time.
The planned limit of 500 was reached back in June - however, a few people from overseas have had to DNS - so more room for the locals!

Justin Kerr from Team H&R Block/Norco burst his way to the front of the pack to open Bike Fest for the invited men on a short, but very difficult surprise Prologue on Thursday.
Only one kilometre into the race, riders found themselves on a gentle climb up Buffalo Street. Suddenly the riders hit "Surprise Corner," a steep, sharp hairpin turn that takes them to the finish line.

Norco Phena - Ready out of the box
It has been a cold and wet, West Coast Spring - absolutely perfect for mountain biking! Whistler is full-on at any time of year, but if you love Mountain biking, this spring has started out to be fantastic for exciting trail riding action!
Yesterday, we climbed up Cougar Mountain to the trail head of the Flank to Alpine. We hit deep snow at the 3600 foot trail head, and so, had to descend back down the logging road - bummer! Maybe in a month if the sun shines hot again! The trails below 3500 feet have been just awesome, and as always the trail maintenance crews have been out creating some pretty cool new rides.

Carbon Drive - The Next Big Thing
Last July, when Greg Martin rolled across the finish line to win the 2009 Singlespeed World Championships bike race in Canmore, Alberta, one thing was missing from the rig he'd pedaled for 24 hours straight: a bike chain. Martin was riding a bike equipped with a belt drive instead.
As innovations in the world of cycling go, the Carbon Belt Drive system from Gates, a company in Denver, could be a game changer. The humble bike chain--greasy, gunk-prone, finicky if not lubed and maintained--has been standard equipment for decades. But belt drives, which employ a flexible loop of polyurethane embedded with carbon-fiber cords, give bikers a new option.

Getting ready for 2011, it is closer than you think!
It may seem weird, but right now is a time of transition from 2010 and 2011. Sure it may only be June, but with brochures to be printed, product launch to be had and ads to be designed really, for all intensive purposes 2010 is already over. With this in mind, it was just last week that we made a quick trip over to Merritt BC to grab a photo or two.

Cameron Cole breaks his wrist
A small crash in the mud at Champery, Switzerland has left Maxxis-Rocky Mountain team rider Cameron Cole, 22, with a broken scaphoid in his right hand, derailing his UCI World Cup downhill campaign for 2010. But the laconic Kiwi says there is a chance he could be back in time for the World Championships, which will be held at Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec at the end of August.
